Hard to believe that it is 2017. The past year just flew by. Katherine of Cobert Photography has chosen Music as the theme for January. Tough one for me. I am not a musician, we have no musical instruments in the house and I have not been to any events recently where music was involved. Unless I photograph Richard setting up his playlists for his phone to play through his new blue tooth speaker. There is nothing musical about that. However, I was reminded of an event we had a couple of years ago when I first started out taking photos. So I pulled them up and went through a re-edit process.
One staff luncheon we were treated to a hour of musical delight. My work colleague and her husband are musicians. Jane does a lot of “Elvis” cruises with a prominent cruise line, and Dave is a quiet soul, whom if you met him, would not make you think that he had this stunning voices that range from Elvis, to Nat King Cole, to Frank Sinatra, to my all time favorite UB40. They also have a ministry of visiting the elderly and singing to them. I love that this brings great joy not only to Dave and Jane but also those that they minister to. Jane mentioned to me at the time that they do not have an opportunity to change their costumes, so they interchange with hats and sunglasses, scarves and such items.
Here is my share on the topic Music. I look forward to seeing yours.
What a coup! Young and old, we were all entranced in the performance, the versatility, and the love that these two amazing people share. It is definitely time to stop by and listen to them again.

So apparently I must live under a rock. I have lived in this area for 15 years and have never heard of this event, or better yet, been to it. So when a friend asked me whether I would like to go to the Delray Affair, I was a litte confused as to what it was.
Much to my surprise it was far bigger than I anticipated and we walked, and walked. From the top end of Atlantic Avenue down to the Intracoastal, cars were prevented from traveling, and this became one major big flea market. I have to give them credit. It was planned very well. We walked down one side of the road and back up the other.
So did I go crazy shopping? – no, I guess I could have but I really do not want to spend unnecessary money right now. Although I did purchase one thing. I love almond soap, and was delighted when I found some.
There were jewelry stands, art stand, incredible art stands, stands where folk did not seem to mind if you took photos, and there were stands with big signs saying do not take photo’s. I got to chat with people about what they were selling and find out a little bit more about them. I got to enjoy time with my friend, and I got to walk out in the beautiful fresh air that Florida is having just lately.
I definitely went over my 30 minutes but I will split it up, I just cannot help sharing some of this incredible talent. Here are some of my favorites seen that day.
My disclaimer: The images are mine, which is why they have my logo on. The artwork itself is done by incredibly talented artists, whose names I do not know.
Beyond this image I head past my 30 minutes, but I did want to share what else I got to see that really appealed to me.

I have had the privilege of knowing his mother for some years, his father a little less and now this little man.
This is the first time I have attempted to take photographs of a baby so young other than Noah’s first 48 hour photo’s. One thing I have learned from this short session, is that babies move and photo’s blur. They also do not like to be moved around a lot. Noah seemed to be more comfortable on his back and so most of his photo’s are taken that way.
Here is Noah at 12 days old..
Before you were born,
we dreamed of you, imagined you,
we prayed for you.
Now that you are here,
we hope for you, we love you
we thank God for you.
