I recently joined up to a new project – 10 images on the 10th. The objective of this group is to post 10 images on the 10th of the month.
Living in South Florida, and growing up all my life at the beach in South Africa, sunrises are always something that take my breath away. I will confess that I hate waking up in the morning. It kills me! But when I am standing at the edge of the water watching the sun rise I am moved beyond expression with the beauty and magnificence of the new day.
It is certainly not a tradition for us to head to the beach on Christmas morning. However, my daughter has just returned home from spending 2 years with the Peace Corp in Macedonia and coming home with her was her friend Daniel. So Richard suggested that we head to the beach and watch the sunrise. I think that Daniel thought we were going to watch the sunset and was in full agreement. When Amy explained that they would be waking up at 5am to head to the beach he just nodded his head. “It is good” he said. And that is exactly what we did.
Richard and I were not in agreement as to which beach we were going to but I finally convinced him that going to the beach with the pier was far better than going to the beach with only a straight horizon. As it turned out we were not the only folk to wake up and watch the sunrise. In fact the beach was rather busy. Nothing like someone walking in front of your view to stand and watch the sunrise. I love the clone stamp lol. I did however, get myself behind a random couple who were watching and contemplating the new day. The last image is of my daughter Amy, and her boyfriend Daniel.
I am looking forward to blogging with this new group and to see what everyone else has to share.

Thank you so much Dawne. Christmas morning was a first but now that we have split Christmas we had to wait until the evening to open presents. So getting up and going and watch the sun come up gave us something to do. Next time I will plan breakfast on the beach 🙂
