Artists Inspired: March 2017: Green

I am really enjoy posting on the different color themes that we are going through with the Artist Inspired blog group.  This month is green.  I have a love hate relationship with Green.   Green is the beauty of nature and I love nature, but sometimes the green is a yellow green and I am not crazy about that.  I love muted greens, soft peaceful greens.  The color green is often associated with nature, energy, freshness, growth, harmony and various other ideas.

Green is new life as opposed to the dying brown of a plant, often reflected in my house.  My father had a green thumb growing numerous orchids, and anthiriums.  Not so in my house.  I have one green plant in the kitchen and it’s life cycle depens greatly on how much I water it.  Fortunately it is a hardly plant that recovers fairly quickly.

Fortunately I love nature and I love to get out and walk in it.  So here are a few images taken on my walk about that reflect the color green.

    • Thank you so much Sarah. Nature photography involves a lot of patience and standing around waiting. But I don’t mind. The little sparrow like birds hang out in a hedge by my office. They are so sweet.

  4. Nature is just so incredible and full of wonder and inspiration. I love your nature images – that chameleon!! We don’t get them here and I really miss them in my garden.

    • Channon the lizard is actually an iguana and the can grow up to 2 metres long. They are alien to Florida. Story is they have been brought in from South America. They reproduce abundantly. They have managed to find a home in the wetlands recently. We have been down in the Florida Keys and they walk through the campsite. Don’t feed them because they will swamp you. We used to have one on our back canal that would suntan on the dock, but one really cold winter and it disappeared. A lot of them died that year

    • Thank you Emilee. They are pretty cool. In mating season they seem to turn orange in color. They also get pretty big. They tend to run away if you get close to them. I was using my 70-300 lens.

    • Thank you Liz. It is actually an iguana. We have a lot of them in Florida. They like to lie out and bake in the sun. I love them but a lot of Floridians don’t.
